Annual Events and Activities
SJGS hosts several annual events that enable children to embrace fun in a manner that also enhances the learning experience. This is yet another way to help create “the whole child” in his quest for both learning and adventure.
· Pow-Wow (Preschool and Purvis Hall study of Native American culture and traditions)
· Native American Feast
· Health and Nutrition Fair & Art Fair
· Fall Field Day
· Folk Festival and Pinewood Derby · History and Geography Fair
· Brain Decathlon Days
· Scholastic Book Fairs
In addition, SJGS encourages charitable events as well as a lesson on the importance of giving back to the community.
• Support for Children of Deployed Soldiers
• Light the Night Leukemia/Lymphoma Fundraiser for Cancer
• Jump Rope for the Heart for the American Heart Association
Additionally, SJGS students have the opportunity to participate in after school enrichment programs. These programs allow increased social development through lessons in teamwork, sportsmanship, and simple common courtesies necessary when learning and performing with others. SJGS enrichment programs, also referred to as "clubs" easily peak the interest and participation throughout all grade levels. Listed below are the clubs currently available at SJGS:
Kids Club ~ Cheerleading ~ Drama Club ~ Fun with Music ~ Violin Lessons ~ Karate ~ Sports and More ~ Junior Sports
